Godzilla TV Show Reveals New Production Details

New details have been revealed about the currently in development Godzilla series is coming to Apple TV+, and filming for this new series is set to begin soon according to a new report. Fans can’t wait to see more of the MonsterVerse after the successful release of Godzilla vs. Kong Last year, and while there have been reports that Legendary’s next Titan-filled universe movie was already in the works, it looks like there are still plenty of surprises to come as a new TV series set in the Monsterverse is now in preparation for release with Apple TV+.

Actual production details were sparse outside of confirmation that Legendary’s partnership with Toho would continue, and a new report from Murphy’s Multiverse has revealed even more what to expect. According to the report, the new TV series is currently titled “Hourglass” and will primarily focus on Monarch (thus making the title a reference to the logo), and casting for the series is currently underway with production reportedly slated for to start. This can.

Whether or not the details of the report materialize remains to be seen, but Murphy’s Multiverse also claims that filming will continue through November with locations slated for Tokyo, Vancouver, and Hawaii. What has been confirmed is that this new series will be set sometime after Godzilla’s fight with the MUTO in the 2014 film as a family deals with their ties to Monarch as the secret organization enters into action once the secret of the Titans is fully revealed to the world.

The new MonsterVerse series is a co-production between Legendary Television and an executive produced by co-creators Chris Black (who also serves as showrunner) and Matt Fraction. They will work alongside Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell, and Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita will serve as executive producers on the Toho side as they continue to hold the master Godzilla license, as the Titans seen in the new series have yet to reveal, it at least means fans can expect more Godzilla in some form or another.

What do you think? Curious to see what a MonsterVerse TV series could add to the growing world of Legendary’s Titans? Which Titans would you like to see in the new series?
