How to easily solve the trapping challenge in RE8 Village, with two distinct strategies.
Resident Evil 8 Village includes dozens of challenges to complete outside of the main story and outside of the achievements you can earn. These challenges give you all CP, which you can spend in the bonus shop for extras, such as Infinite ammo and powerful new weapons. These bonuses bring reruns of Village RE8, and in this guide, we are going to explain how to solve the Trapping Challenge, which will reward you with a lot of CP to spend.
This challenge requires you to kill creatures using other creatures. You need 20 monsters to be killed by the attacks of other monsters, and that’s easier said than done. But in this guide, we’re going to make it as easy as possible, and with a little persistence you’ll be able to take on this challenge with relative ease.
Best Strategies to Overcome the Trapping Challenge in RE8 Village
the Trapping challenge is, well, difficult, but mostly because you’re rarely in a situation where enemies can effectively attack each other. But there are a few sections of the game that are perfect for this. The first one lycan the encounter is perfect, because there are enemies everywhere, and one enemy in particular is chopping the meat of others.
Trapping Strategy 1 – Meet Lycan and Urias
Yes it is Urias, the giant lycan wielding a hammer. You’ll shoot him later in the game, but in this first section you’re just supposed to survive until a timer runs out. You can use this to your advantage and abuse this encounter to complete this challenge quickly.
Here’s a fun fact: If you leave or restart an area, your challenges are still counted. So your goal is to kill a lot of lycans for a separate challenge, you can mow a lot of them here and restart before the timer runs out, repeating this to build up your attacks in the background and complete the challenges.
And of course it also works with Urias. You can wait until it summons and then restart before the timer runs out. The only problem is that this timer is invisible and you have to keep yours in the actual timer in order to restart at the right time. Urias will appear around two minutes in the encounter, then the encounter will end abruptly after about four minutes. If you’ve recently completed the game and want to go back to complete this challenge quickly, this is a decent way to do it.
You may want to take this challenge on Casual mode, as you can leave more enemies alive in the meantime, giving the Urias a lot more leeway to flex and defeat the horde.
Trapping Strategy 2 – Lady Dimitrescu in the Castle Courtyard
Another method that you can use involves Lady Dimitrescu, and depending on where you are in the game, this one may be a little easier to achieve.
Lady D follows Ethan Winters all over the castle, and you might not have noticed it, but if she meets an enemy on the way, she’ll kill them to get them out of her way. Brutal, and also very useful.
It’s great because the Court the area is close to the Main hall, and also has enemies that appear almost endlessly. If you can catch Lady D in the main hall, you can lead her into the courtyard and then fly her around the area while she takes out nearby enemies. You can easily take down multiple enemies at once here and then go back to the Merchant wait for respawns or restart the area to maintain it.
Both of these strategies are basically guaranteed to work, depending on where you are in the game, and can be completed on any difficulty.
