Marvel’s Black Widow Soundtrack Gets Mondo Vinyl Release

Now that Black Widow is finally available globally, Mondo is celebrating its release with a new addition to its library of Marvel soundtracks. In partnership with Hollywood Records, the company pressed Lorne Balfe’s score for the film on vinyl.

Balfe’s sheet music is pressed onto two 180 gram LPs, and fans can also choose between two different variations. There’s the ‘butterfly splash’ variant, which is exclusive to Mondo’s online store and has both discs reflecting Natasha Romanoff’s iconic hourglass emblem. In addition, Mondo also releases a standard black variant. Both editions cost $ 35. Additionally, the album features artwork by Mo Shafeek as well as cover notes by Balfe and Black Widow director Cate Shortland.

After collaborating with Hans Zimmer for several years, Balfe ended up standing on his own feet and has since provided the music for films like Terminator Genisys, The LEGO Batman Movie, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and Bad boys for life. This year alone, Balfe’s work has already been heard in Outside the wire and The war of tomorrow. Balfe also scored Mission: Impossible – Fallout in 2018 and is currently expected to mark the next two installments in this series.

Mondo initially announced plans to release all MCU sheet music on vinyl in mid-2019. However, only five Marvel soundtracks have received the wax treatment so far. Their most recent release was a box set of Alan Silvestri’s scores for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which happened last April.

The two versions of Mondo Black Widow the sheet music can be purchased here. Orders will be shipped during September. You can preview the artwork for the release in the gallery below.
