LEBANON, Tennessee (WSMV) – It was an electric day at the Nashville Superspeedway on Saturday as the roar of racing cars made a long-awaited return to the track.
Thousands of fans filled the stands for the NASCAR Xfinity Series Race, the first NASCAR race in Nashville in a decade.
But you didn’t have to be in the stands to take in the energy of the race – just ask a group from Kentucky, who spends the day racing in the hatchback.
“Oh yeah, it’s a great day for a race,” said one of them. “It’s fantastic, we couldn’t have had a better time.
Between games, drinks and stories, you’ll find under almost every tent outside the stadium. Saturday was very special for Dickson native Peyton Terry who spent race day with his family.
“Oh, this is amazing. Dads are so hard to buy – Father’s Day, birthdays, those days are so hard to plan, ”said Terry. “And it was something [my dad] I wanted to do it, there’s nothing better than going out with your dad and knowing he’s having a good time.
The NASCAR weekend in Nashville continues Sunday as the Cup Series race begins around 2:45 p.m. He’s worn out.
