For 2021, there is not one, not two, but Seven all new variations of the Aquanaut model by Patek Phillipe.

As if the four new Nautilus at the start of the year were not enough to satisfy the endless appetite of the world for Patek Philippe watches, the Swiss manufacture has just launched a new generation of its sporty Aquanaut. the Aquanaut is after all, his second hottest model, and for good reason. Heavily inspired by the design of the Nautilus, the watch was created especially for a new and younger sporting clientele, although it also ended up becoming a universally beloved design.

Here, a guide to the Aquanaut drops of 2021.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph in white gold (Ref.5968G)

One of the most exciting additions to the coveted brood here has to be the very first Aquanaut Chronograph in white gold.

First launched in 2018 as a steel model, these more sophisticated versions – in khaki green or midnight blue – are powered by the same flyback chronograph movement. The automatic caliber CH 28-520 C sees a rare flyback function that allows the central chronograph hand to function as a permanent second hand as well. This allows its user to start timing a new event while the chronograph is still running.

The case has an elegant diameter of 42.2 mm and is water resistant to 120 m. Expect matching straps made from super-tough composite material to bolster the sporty-chic aesthetic that Patek Phillipe has managed to pull off here.

It’s the ladies, however, who will be in for a treat. The Aquanaut Luce hangs on the remaining five references – an important refresh that could only mean more options for discerning collectors.

The first three are blinged-out quartz models that come in black, white or khaki green; only this time enlarged to 38.8 mm (instead of 35.6 mm) to not only release more sportiness, but also to galvanize a new unisex market for this “light” Aquanaut model. This is an aesthetic that Patek Philippe will continue for each subsequent Aquanaut Luces (except for the fine jewelry models), alongside its new integrated strap design.

On the steel case is a polished bezel illuminated by 48 round-cut Top Wesselton Pure diamonds, which then draw the eye to the recognizable embossed dial, marked by white gold Arabic numerals and large white gold baton style hands with luminescence coating. The new Aquanaut Luce References 5267 / 200A will replace all the old Reference 5067 models here.

Aquanaut Luce Travel Time (Ref. 5269/200R)

The Aquanaut Luce is perhaps best known for being worthy companions on journeys near and far. The only problem for most women at the time was that a second time zone display was missing. This watch solves this riddle with an improved quartz movement. While the existing Aquanaut travel times are set via two prominent pushers on the side of the case, this new Luce Travel Time is easily adjusted via the crown, giving the case a more elegant and understated look.

There are also two central hour hands here – one skeleton and the other solid – to indicate local time and local time, respectively. While abroad, the skeleton hand works with the day / night indicator at six o’clock to provide easy readings of your current destination, with or without time difference.

With the trips stationary, however, the practicality of a dual time zone watch is questionable. When not in use, Patek Philippe designed the movement so that the two hour hands can be merged into one, so you are free to use the watch as a time accessory only.

Like the Aquanaut Luce Automatic above, this rose gold watch is complemented with a matte white dial, matching bracelet and 48 Top Wesselton Pure diamonds, and joins the rest of Patek Philippe’s ladies’ travel watches as a companion. stylish modern woman.
