Rocket League Season 5 is live – here’s what’s new

Rocket League Season 5 has now arrived on all platforms, and developer Psyonix has shared a full rundown of what’s new. The hot new patch – v.2.08 if you want to be fancy – brings a Rocket Pass, a new Nexus car, a Starbase Arc (Aftermath) arena variant, and more.

New Season 5 Rocket Pass has “over 70 unique reward levels” and comes in two types, depending on how much stuff you are looking for. The premium version will cost you 1,000 credits and will give you immediate access to the new Starbase: Arc card type, the theme being that it has been overrun by an evil force. The new Nexus car also includes, along with things like a Spacedirt paint finish, an animated Hyperspace decal, and a Cosmosis goal blast, with its final transformation – the Nexus SC – unlocked at level 70.

There is also a bundle available for the pass, which will cost you 2,000 credits from this story (it is currently at a 33% discount). This allows you to unlock the Nexus immediately and gain access to 12 additional levels.

Starting November 18, players will be able to compete against each other in a limited-time Heatseeker Ricochet mode, which modifies three new arenas from Rocket Labs, Barricade, Colossus, and Hourglass. The first stage of the Season 5 challenges is also now live, allowing players to start entering new customization items. Here’s a look at what’s to come with Rocket League Season 5:

The good news is that there is also some free stuff up for grabs. All players can dive in and collect a Backfire Cruster Buster Decal, Happy Whale topper, and Crescent Moon Antenna now that Season 5 is upon us. The new update also brings a bunch of quality of life updates and other updates to Rocket League. You can check them out in detail – along with the full list of Season 4 Competitive Rewards coming soon – in the patch notes at this link.
