Rolls-Royce uses Bovet 1822 for Boat Tail watches

following the unveiling of the extravagant and opulent Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, the British luxury car manufacturer reveals details of the same large pair of timepieces created in collaboration with Swiss master watchmakers Bovet 1822.

The customer who received the first order – who happens to be a collector of Rolls-Royce and Bovet 1822 himself – had one concept in mind, “to design and produce a bespoke Rolls-Royce and two unique Bovet 1822 timepieces. , his wife, it goes hand in hand.

And after three years of development, Rolls Royce and Bovet 1822 ultimately accomplished something never before achieved in the watch and automotive industry.

Made in pairs, the timepieces are reversible and housed in the patented Amadeo case by Bovet 1822, which allows them to be worn on the wrist, or used as a table clock, pendant or pocket watch, as well as being placed in the front and center of Boat Tail’s fascia as the boat’s own timepiece. car.




Additionally, the watches have specially designed 18k white gold cases and feature matching front dials with the same Caleidolegno plating that is found on the aft deck of the Boat Tail itself.

Bovet 1822 owner Pascal Raffy said: “I am very proud of the Bovet 1822 team, who worked in tandem with their Rolls-Royce counterparts to produce something truly spectacular. The owners of the bodied car and of these bespoke timepieces are personal friends, as well as valued collectors of Bovet 1822. The men’s watch features a handcrafted wood marquetry front dial with a hand-engraved Spirit of Ecstacy sculpture attached to the tourbillon bridge. When inverted, it sports an aventurine dial with the heavenly arrangement of the night sky from the place of his birth to his date of birth.



On the other hand, the ladies’ watch is decorated with a handcrafted wood marquetry front dial of the same complexity with a hand-engraved Spirit of Ecstacy sculpture in 18k white gold. The back features a miniature painting adorned with a bouquet of flowers on a mother-of-pearl dial.
